MY PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
There are so many people in the world who never have the opportunity to pursue the career they love. I’m not one of them. I love what I do and since starting research in U of M, Ann Arbor, I’m thrilled to say that I’ve learned from so many trained professionals in Control & Robotic field. I know that I still have so much to learn from others in the industry. I’m a hard worker, a team player and excited to see what projects could benefit from my unique skill set.
PROFESSIONAL HISTORY




INDEPENDENT STUDY, ROAHM LAB, UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
January 2016 -- Now
A Segway system is built and runs in Robot Operating System(ROS), Ubuntu. Sensors and computer programs help to generate stereo images and point-clouds data.
With the help of these data and all kinds of algorithms, several functions are acheived.
1, Faster-RCNN(Regions with Convolutional Neural Network) algorithm is used in a pedestrain detection program.
2, A Realtime Multi-Person 2D Pose Estimation using Part Affinity Fields.
3, KCF(Kernalized Correlation Filter) tracker is used for single pedestrian tracking.
Now working: Implementing a pedestrian prediction model in the Segway system and commanding the segway to stop autonomously while the predicted path intersects with the Segway path.



WINTER INTERNSHIP, PEPSICO FOODS
Dec/2014 -- Feb/2015
As an intern, I worked in PepsiCo Foods (China) Co., Ltd, Wuhan, China, during the winter vacation.
Life running between production line was fantastic, I can still remember the periodic click coming out of the automatic electronic balances which only have less than 1 milligram error.
As a mechanical engineer, except that I maintained normal operation of production lines, I once had a chance to help renovating a 200-kilogram oil pump. This huge beast generated by the Industrial Revolution still impact and encourage me ever since then.
The most valuable experience during the program would be me attending the equipment-supplier-meetings (speaking English). This is the first time that I have chance to put forward some demanding requirements and learn about how industry is connected with business issues.

CODING IN C++, PYTHON ON LINUX
I wrote code in C++ and Python to communicate the sensor data with the computer system to generate stereo images and point-clouds data.
Visualize multiple pedestrian detection on ROS by using HOG and Fast-RCNN algorithms.
Visualize Realtime Multi-Person 2D Pose Estimation in ROS using Part Affinity Fields.
Familiar with open source computer vision library such as OpenCV.
MATLAB, LABVIEW
Tons of course projects are finished by these two software. Basic skills equipped.
